In this work, the effect of inactivating agents (formaldehyde and beta-propiolactone) on the structure of viral particles was investigated using small-angle X-ray scattering and transmission electron microscopy. Data were obtained indicating the destruction of the natural structure of the adenovirus due to the effect of β-propiolactone.
