Phase transitions in a three-dimensional ferromagnetic Potts model on a kagome lattice

The Monte Carlo method was used to study phase transitions and thermodynamic properties of the three-dimensional ferromagnetic Potts model with the number of spin states q=4 on the kagome lattice with nearest neighbor interactions. Temperature dependences of energy and heat capacity were constructed. The nature of the phase transition was analyzed using the fourth-order Binder cumulants method and the histogram method. It was found that the first-order phase transition is observed in this model. Keywords: Monte Carlo method, Binder cumulants, spin interactions, heat capacity.
