To ensure the maximum possible cyclotron beam current during the production of iodine-based radiopharmaceuticals, a new method of the TeO2 target forward cooling was developed and tested. Using a mathematical model of irradiation and cooling processes, the intensity of heat dissipation was determined, and assumptions about the criteria of destruction of the TeO2 target were made. Keywords: nuclear medicine, radioiodine, radiopharmaceutical, tellurium dioxide, cyclotron, target cooling.
