The amplification of a short-wavelength ultrashort pulse in an electrostatic undulator of a free-electron laser interacting with a relativistic electron bunch is considered. The system parameters that enable the amplification of attosecond X-ray pulses are determined. Keywords: attopulses, free-electron laser, electrostatic undulator, stimulated emission.
