Layer-by-layer photopolymerization of a mixture of liquid crystal diacrylate, methacrylate, and acrylate was studied using IR 651 as a photoinitiator. It was shown that the helical pitch of the cholesteric liquid crystal polymer depends on the concentration of optically active acrylate. With decreasing UV irradiation intensity, a significant change in the concentration of optically active acrylate in various layers of the polymerized composition was observed, both increasing and decreasing from the initial concentration, leading to a broadening of the spectrum of light reflected from the thin polymerized layer. Keywords: cholesteric liquid crystals, liquid crystal polymers, photopolymerization, reflectance spectrum width, ultraviolet radiation.
