Press-release

We are pleased to announce that on February 7, 2023, the ISSN International Centre, coordinator of the National Centres under UNESCO support, transferred the ISSNs of the English translations of all five Ioffe journals (Technical Physics, Technical Physics Letters, Physics of the Solid State, Semiconductors, Optics and Spectroscopy) from USA to Russia. Ensuring correct location of the legitimate publisher in the ISSN record is essential for journal indexing in all databases. We are confident that Web of Science and Scopus will reflect these changes in the very near future.

The International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is a unique international 8-digit number that identifies a serial publication in print or digital form. ISSN allows identifying the publication regardless of language or media and is especially helpful in distinguishing between serials with the same title. The use of ISSN is a key element of journal identification in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus. The ISSN National Centres are coordinated with the support of UNESCO by the ISSN International Centre located in Paris https://www.issn.org (English: ISSN International Centre; French: Le Center international de l'ISSN - CIEPS). The ISSN Russian National Centre was established under the Russian Book Chamber https://www.bookchamber.ru/issn.html.
